More about it
Cross-platform music and video player and downloader, built with Flutter and Dart. Windows, macOS and Android, GPLv3. Since v16 it leads with the player. Subtitles work for videos and songs alike, from an .srt or .vtt next to the file or the tracks built into MKV and MP4, UTF-16 files included, and .lrc lyrics scroll in sync. Mark one part of a track or several and playback loops through them. There is a large view, 0.5× to 2× speed, a sleep timer, and long files reopen where you left off, even ones opened from outside the library. Downloads come from the 1,800+ sites yt-dlp supports, whole or only the parts you mark, each its own file. They are self-healing: yt-dlp updates itself in the background, failed downloads retry through a bundled Deno runtime, and the app falls back across alternate API clients instead of just failing. Windows gets it three ways: a no-admin installer that updates itself, a portable zip, and an MSIX package on the Microsoft Store with FFmpeg, yt-dlp and Deno bundled. The Android build enumerates whole playlists itself, handling every shape of YouTube's continuation token and falling back to the YouTube Music API when the ordinary one stops paginating, so an 863 track playlist returns 855 of them on a phone. It takes downloads through a headless WebView JS challenge solver, runs a foreground torrent service Android will not kill, matches titles with CJK awareness, and keeps playing in the background with Bluetooth media controls. Watch Together syncs playback across phone, desktop and TV over the LAN with no server and no account, using NTP-style round-trip estimation to keep devices in step, and the built-in browser blocks ads with the EasyList and EasyPrivacy lists uBlock Origin uses and runs Greasemonkey and Tampermonkey userscripts with a GM_* shim.
